Gordon & MacPhail

It’s not often a shop becomes a tourist attraction in itself but Gordon & MacPhail is definitely a must see for many whisky enthusiasts. The whisky shop is often included in whisky tour itineraries. The shop is tucked away on South Street, Elgin. Inside you will find whiskies to match any budget. In a time when nearly all whisky was blended, Gordon & MacPhail were innovators in producing single malts. George Urquhart bought in barrels of whisky and matured it before bottling the whiskies as a single malt.  This heritage and understanding of the maturation process led Gordon & MacPhail to release an 80 year old Glenlivet! It was distilled on the 3rd February 1940 and bottled 5th February 2020.
